In an effort to strike back against what many perceive to be preemptive attacks by the current White House, the USPS today made a surprise announcement that they are pursuing a patent for a blockchain-based ‘Secure Voting System’.
Said current Postmaster Louis DeJoy:
"If the president insists on defrauding American elections, it seems like the best solution for us to just give him what he wants. I mean we work for him anyway, right? Putting it online makes it WAY easier to hack, and takes the USPS out of the process entirely – so maybe he’ll stop cutting our budget!
The USPS also submitted an additional, related patent filing – still under review – detailing a vision of an American voting system housed entirely on servers in the Kremlin.
“It certainly seems like the next logical step”, said Dejoy.
